ACT Walk-a-thon

It's been a week since our big event, the Change for Change Walk-a-thon.  This year's ACT group was amazing.  They worked hard and helped to make the world a better place one hen at a time.  The walk was extremely successful and it was so fun to walk through our elementary school and see all of the signs the younger students made!  Thanks to Mayor Van Dusen for coming to the event and to NPR for allowing Mrs. Ciok to speak on their program:  http://www.wbez.org/series/global-activism/global-activism-skokie-teacher-inspires-students-towards-activism-110250  Thanks also to Mike Isaacs for covering the event each year for the Skokie Review.

Each year, we try to beat our fundraising goal, but even more so, I'm so proud to see these students work so hard raise awareness and the funds to help their peers half way around the world with food, shelter, education, and jobs for the future.  We did make our goal and we raised over $7000 for A Better Life for Kids to continue to do the work they do so well.  Take a look at our video for the walk day and some pictures from the big event!
