On Thursday, August 28th, the new ACT members met for the first time. There were over 25 people there, which was an amazing start for the 2014-2015 school year! We are excited for the possibilities this year!
The students that were there were very excited to hear about the progress on A Better Life for Kids chicken farm in Ghana. The majority of the money raised last year was used to obtain and fund a chicken farm for the orphans in Ghana. It was fun to see our chickens in the coop held by the children who are now getting protein each day! We also had exciting news about a singing duo who wants to help us write a song! Wendy and DB (http://wendyanddb.com/) are musicians who sing children's music all around Chicago! On Thursday, we began the process of writing the song by brainstorming words for them. It's going to be an amazing process all year, so definitely look for updates on that throughout the year! We are hoping to debut the song at the Leap for Ghana concert in February!
We also had exciting news that ABC7 wants to cover some of our activities this year. That will be amazing exposure for the fight for children's rights around the world!
