Leap for Ghana!

Tomorrow night is our Leap for Ghana event!  We are so excited to have everyone come and see the performances!  The choirs and percussion groups have been working hard to prepare.

We will have some new items for sale both tomorrow night and very soon.  The new green shirts arrived today, thanks to MSM Promotions!  We also got our new notepads from Klein Printing; they look great!  Finally, we just got word from Plastic Premiums that they are donating sandwich containers with the 2nd place logo on them.  Thanks again to all our partners in the community!

Author Visit!

On February 22nd, A.C.T. students will have the chance to meet Audrey Couloumbis, author of many young  adult books including War Games and Newberry Honor Book, Getting Near to Baby.  Couloumbis is a part of the Coming Together in Skokie events, which focus on Greece this year.  This group of students, all of which have read one of her books, will have the chance to eat lunch with, and ask questions to, this well-known author.  Thanks to the Skokie Public Library, Ms. Gammeri, and the rest of Coming Together in Skokie for this great opportunity!

Preparing for Leap for Ghana

Yesterday we had a productive meeting to prepare for the Leap for Ghana concert next week!  Students taped a video announcement that will be played on Monday or Tuesday, and posters, flags and other decorations were created.  Join us on Thursday, February 28th, for a wonderful night of singing by the 8th grade choirs!  The show begins at 7 pm!

Welcoming people to our event!

Hearts for Ghana!

On Wednesday, February 13th, Ms. Gammeri and Ms. Kopp opened up the library for a great event benefiting A Better Life for Kids!  This is the second year for Hearts for Ghana, and it was a wonderful success!  For a $2 donation, students and teachers had a great time creating Valentines for their friends and loved ones, along with taking silly pictures in the photo booth.

Thanks Mrs. Sidman for such a lovely display!
